X-ZELL global HQ now open for business in Singapore
Singapore, May 2019 – X-ZELL, only recently named one of Asia’s 20 most innovative health tech start-ups, today opened its new global headquarters at Paya Lebar Square in Singapore, conveniently located between Changi Airport and the city’s vibrant Central Business District.
First announced in December 2018, the move comes on the back of a partnership agreement with Singapore’s Diagnostics Development Hub (DxD) intended to accelerate the company’s capabilities and scale up its commercialisation and product development processes.
Phase one of the landmark agreement – which earned the X-ZELL a nomination for a 2019 HealthInvestor Asia Award in the Diagnostics Deal of the Year category – is currently underway and expected to pave the way for a series of follow-up projects.
According to X-ZELL CEO, Dr Sebastian Bhakdi, shifting the company’s global head office from Bangkok to Singapore thus symbolises X-ZELL’s ongoing commitment to the Lion City as a global healthcare innovation hub.
“Singapore has firmly established itself as a global hub for diagnostics innovation and development,” he explained.
“It’s both a gateway to the rest of Asia, as well as a channel to access international markets, so for us it’s the perfect growth platform – especially now that we work so closely with one of the city’s leading diagnostics development institutions.”
Dr Bhakdi added that the company’s four-strong executive team is in the process of permanently relocating to Singapore too.
“Everyone at X-ZELL is going ‘all in’ on this project, both professionally and personally,” he said. “We are looking forward to becoming part of the local eco-system and engaging with Singapore’s vibrant healthcare innovation scene.”
According to X-ZELL, the decision to incorporate in Singapore will not affect the company’s existing operations in Bangkok, Thailand and Delaware, USA.
